I bought the car from Sydney in not bad condition and drive it home on a six hour run , looking at the color of the head near the head gasket I told the guy it was going to blow a head gasket , but benefit of the doubt it started but pinged , didn’t get half way and sure enough the head gasket blew , but continued to drive it all the way home and of course the bonnet cable also broke so we couldn’t check anything , it didn’t get hot and too low for a trailer and knew it had only detonated between cylinders it made it .
And that was day one
Modifications
Since purchase I’ve slowly gone though and replaced or reconditioned driveline and interior and boot , I also have a few ideas for modification with another diff I’ve modified and a 5 speed but wanting to keep it on the column .
Engine is all built by myself and head machined at home also with larger valves guides and spring seats machined to suit , XU1 slipper pistons etc all the goodies I’ve been collecting for years
