History
2405 is a 1981 Volvo B10M with locally built PMC Adelaide bodywork.
This bus is special because it was the last of 120 buses of the same type left in Adelaide Metro service back in 2006.
These buses were considered quite luxurious when introduced into service from 1980 on, with padded arm rest seating, evaporative air conditioning, and a totally new colour palette inside and out. All would lead long and reliable lives forming the backbone of outer south and hills services.
Some went on to lead second lives, being purchased by operators in other states; many ending up in Perth, and still being used in regular service to this day. Over 40 years since they were built!
I purchased this bus in 2011 and have returned it to it's 2006 government appearance.
2405 is well known in bus enthusiast circles, and as such will remain in the iconic all-over 'virgo white' paint job with Adelaide Metro decals and fleet numbers.
