History
This wagon was a full restoration project that has taken around 6 years. This vehicle was was not in a condition to run when I first purchased as you can see in the photo prior to restoration. It needed extensive body repairs.
A full bare metal restoration was completed on the wagon by Custom and Classic Cars in Mt Barker in SA.
All chrome and stainless was fully restored. Mostly all NOS parts sourced to bring back the wagon to its former glory (finding these parts took most of the time).
Full interior restoration back to original completed by Adam Burke at AJ Trim to a level I haven’t seen before which takes this wagon to the next level.
All new glass and rubber seals installed on to vehicle.
Re created parts by 3D printing as some cannot be purchased anymore.
Modifications
The driveline was built with a 2.4L Stroker L20B with twin 47mm OER Carbs and a 2 1/2” exhaust which made 217hp. A stumpy 1600 5 speed gearbox with 240z internals and resplined H190 diff with an LSD assist with getting power to the ground. Engine was built by PMC Race Engines with Les Collins building gearbox and diff by Maddat.
Fully adjustable suspension and Willwood brake set up supplied and fitted by Maddat.
Standard 13” wheels widened to suit semi slicks and allow original hubcaps to be used.
Fully adjustable electric power steering setup installed under the dash to allow for different levels of steering control.
Vehicle was fully re wired to ensure engine bay was clean of wires and no issues popped up once completed.
There is so much more that I have left out from getting 3d printed parts made to put finishing touches on the build to the extreme lengths that Custom & Classic Cars, Maddat, AJ Trim, PMC Race Engines, Les Collins Racing went too in order for the wagon to be finished to such a high standard.
Hope you enjoyed the read and the photos.
