History
Bought for my wife as a wedding present in 1980. She drove it daily until we were transferred to the Kimberley in 1996. The car, (Spiro) was garaged until 2001 and transported to Broome WA. I was driven daily until 2006 when we left Broome and travelled back to Perth. It was driven daily by my wife until 2014 when we were transferred back to the Kimberley and the car was garaged and de-licences until we returned to Perth in 2017. By then the car was showing its age with quite a bit of rust, a tired engine, (79 000 miles), a sagging suspension and a badly faded paint job. In 2018
Modifications
I stripped the car of all removable panels, floor pans, inner and outer sills, boot floor and front and rear valance welding replacing all with their specific rust panels. The car was then sent for final finishing and painting. The original colour was Arctic white but replaced with Heritage white. The engine was rebuilt, stage 3 head, stainless big bore exhaust, electronic ignition, 13/4” SU’s. I rebuilt the suspension, larger disc brakes were fitted and 14” x 51/2” chrome spoke wheels were added.
A retro radio with Bluetooth was also added.
