History
This is George, the first car I ever had, and the only. He came to me soon after I got my licence. He's 40 this year and I've had him for thirteen of those years. In 2010 he was given a special sticker, you know the type? Large, yellow, always placed on the windscreen...? So it was a case of say goodbye forever, or rescusitate and revive - I chose the latter and (with a large personal loan that I am still paying off!) my Dad (all-round handyman and wonder to us all) offered to spend the start of his semi-retirement working on him. Seven months later and George was better than ever! Have a look in the gallery to see George as a work-in-progress - and my awesome Dad who did it ALL!
Modifications
Not much - Dad tried to keep him looking as original as possible during restoration. We had a problem finding original seats for him though - eventually Dad found some Honda Civic seats that fitted perfectly and are super-comfy, better (and less costly) than reupholstering original frames.
