Purchased this vehicle on eBay 2013 in a no reserve auction , didn’t,t think I would win it, because I thought it was too cheap and a bidder would jump in at the last minute and out bid me, but I did ,It was Complete vehicle that has already had all the rust in floors and 1/4 panels done , came with a reconditioned 289 Windsor , Car was complete but requires full resto ,It originally came to Australia early 2000 and had repairs done in Sydney , then was sold to a guy in Crookwell who had the engine reconned, He had to many projects and I bought it off him , as I can make out they all lost money on this car . I have since become very fond of this car and am going to rebuild it with a Thunderbolt style using 390 ci FE engine 4sp top loader and 9 inch ,
Modifications
The body will be original inside and out , I have wrecked out an Aussie 4dr (rusted out) for the rhd parts like steering , dash etc , I have purchased Crites Performance parts to convert to a 390fe big block and ford 4 speed , This included trimming the inner suspension towers for clearance. The 390 will be stroked to 4.125 and bored to 4.110 to give 444ci along with alloy heads, 2x4 hollys and extractors , A disc brake 9 inch has been purchased and will have 4.11 gears . I have just started this project and may take some time with funds a bit short .
11/05/17 progressing slowly ,all panel work now complete and about to paint , all under vehicle restorations complete 9in with disc brake 4.11 lsd , engine been assembled , I have had all trim done and acquired all the parts to put together when paint completed hope fully in the next month .
(23/8/17) paint and trim are now done and the Fairlane is been assembled for the last time should be on the road very shortly
