History
My first car! This car belonged to a friend of my parents who passed it down to my father so he could get rid of his Austin 16 in about 1961. It became mine in 1966 as my first car and I drove it to University in Melbourne every day taking my father and sister to work (for a small fee!). A couple of years later I began rallying it just for fun and went thru an engine, 3 gear box rebuilds and 1 diff along with many sets of universal joints but no body damage. I got married soon after and traded her in on the first 6 cylinder Torana (1968 model) in about 1970.
Modifications
Twin dual throat 45mm Webbers on a homemade manifold, dual pipe exhaust and upswept chrome tips, modified grill for more aggressive look, 4 driving lights on the front to help with night rallies (and looks!), wider tyres and an Impala in line floor shift (WOOWEE). Apart from the engine rebuild where I replaced everything ( with the help of a Holden Engineer who liveed across the road) there was not much more I could do to the old girl without major works so I moved on.
