HSV-F1 details
Rare one off HSV car built for the 1998 Australian Grand Prix as prize car cementing HSV links with Australian F1 with Peter Brocks touring car fan base. This car received HSVs first use of factory colour coded 18 x 8 GTS wheels on a VT model , the HSV spec 5litre (roller cam 304) and 4L60E HSV up graded auto , custom one off F1 fabric with highlighted stitching and Coulson performance upgrade option styled interior seating. Matched with unique HSV dash build badge reading HSV F1 and with external F1 decals fitted along with the Australian F1 corporate logos for that year.
The car is a listed as (QF1P) SPECIAL F1 PACK based on a very early build VT Clubsport (080,Oct 97) platform, this one off build that was given away on the 8th March 1998 just before the Australian grand prix start to a ticket holder winner at the F1 event.
Most of the very few HSV prize cars over the years were never modified in house by HSV, but were out sourced by the Holden dealer after initial build up and transport to that dealer, but not this one as it was modified in house at HSV and then sent to 1998 Grand prix for display in the corporate tent area during race week.
This is a true rare find as HSV had few details listed of it build and links to Australian Formula one Corporation and Peter Brock. This is the only Australian Formula 1 Corporations direct collaboration with HSV to build a joint promotion car and is a car for the serious collector of Australian motor sport or Holden or Brock fan wanting a unique car.
