History
The Ducati Sport 1000s is a nostalgic design exercise and one of the SportClassic series. This model was produced from 2006 to 2009. The design is inspired by the super bikes that Ducati produced and successfully raced in the late 70s and early 80s.
Modifications
The original motorbike was bought in stock condition unseen from Melbourne and shipped to Sydney. Delivery was made direct to a workshop where the modification process began immediately. The modifications are largely cosmetic and the most noticeable is the colour. Originally red, with a white speed stripe and a black seat, it was repainted to a pearlescent white with a red speed stripe, the seat reupholstered to red leather with white cross stitching. The finer detail included a change to the classic Ducati logo and the use of Ducati's 'tri-colour' green in the trim around the speed stripe.
Other modifications include bar-end mirrors for the classic café-racer look, shortening of the number plate mounting ,custom exhaust headers, and short mufflers, see through clutch cover and open timing belt covers, a rear hugger, and brushed aluminium fluid reservoirs.
