Found this on ebay while looking for parts for my other project van....Had to go check it out and its a ripper.
Will use it for collecting parts for my other small Ford project and attend local car shows and swap meets.
These mk 1 vans are virtually extinct on Australian roads. Plenty of Mk 2s are still on the scene but it is incredibly rear to find something in this condition still getting about.
Modifications
Pretty standard other than an upgraded 1.6 kent engine from a Mk 2 Escort.
I recently fitted a quickshifter kit to make those gear changes a little slicker...This little van keeps up with modern traffic and surprises a few folks on the road whenever they go to overtake.
The lightweight body and nippy engine makes it quicker than most sedans and still handles like a go-kart. Its a little hairy in the wet but then again, most Escorts are even in the dry.....Remember we invented drifting back in the 70's
