History
Originally purchased new by a retired senior, I spotted it parked near my residence and left my contact info with the owner who didn't live there but not far away. At about 10 years old it was the nicest kept example I have seen in the flesh. A couple of years later he called me up to say he had months to live due to terminal brain cancer. This came when my wife was pregnant with our first child and I was looking to upsize from our '89 GTi to an Esteem wagon (Baleno estate) but I decided to buy the pristine white Swift and preserve it.
Car has Collector status and is to remain mostly stock visually.
Wishing to preserve and enhance the factory character of this model, modifications must be discreet and result in weight reduction, increased fuel economy or increased strength/durability. The engine was originally, in the MK1 GTi, matched to a 750kg car. Modifications to this Swift have brought its weight down by about 50kg to that level.
