History
The HQ Monaro Coupe has a naturally aspirated LS3, a Turbo 400 gearbox, 9 in diff, custom red paintwork and finished in traditional hounds tooth trim.
This car is very special to us because the owner is one of our oldest and closest friends.
For those who don't know this cars story, she's been almost 30 years in the making, he's had her sitting in a shed in pieces the entire time. We'd all heard the "yeah one day" line from him, we've all hung ALOT of c*** on him about it over the years and we, along with many many others, wondered if this day would EVER come!
He had to part with his beloved HQ 4 door drag car that he built from scratch so the Coupe could finally get its chance and since the day she arrived here at GC Restoration, we can vouch that the he has been working on her after work almost every night and weekend for the last 383 days. Only car enthusiasts will know that feeling of having limited time, the frustration of one step forward and three steps back, the irrational desire to set fire to the bloody thing when things go wrong lol and then finally making a little progress.
As for our part in it, we gave him the ultimate workspace to build it in and the freedom to come and go when he could. Geoff and Troy have put hundreds of hours into the body and paint work to get her lines, curves and colour just right for the vision he had in mind. She looks as good as we all dreamed (and we dream big) and SO much more.
To the Team at ASG Motorsports, Congratulations on all of the mechanical aspects and drive line on this beautiful old girl, you guys killed it!
