History
Mum survived cancer so she treated herself to her first brand-new car in 30 years, a 2005 Suzuki Swift. It was a good little jigger that gave her few problems; just a busted-arse rear door locker that broke a couple of times and was fixed under warranty both times, even when the warranty had run out. Go Suzuki!
Mum died in 2010, leaving us the car. I paid out my sister for half of it and we replaced the 1994 Rodeo my wife and I had been daily driving.
I never loved the Swift; I live near an 80 zone and always felt like I was killing it merging onto the fast road on a cold-ish engine. Despite being auto, I often row through gears and was perturbed to find that first gear was shorter than Verne Troyer.
Further to this, I've literally had no experience pedalling a FWD car in anger, so I tipped into a wet corner in the hills and got the tail out, crapped myself and decided to drive sensibly from then on. Not really, I sold it.
Actually, the MAIN reason I sold it, is that I just couldn't get comfortable in the thing. It just...made my back sore. Which is weird, as I never have sore backs.
As soon as I sold it, my sore back cleared up. We replaced it with the Lexus LS400.
