History
My red Gemini van, aka 'FeralVan '97' was my first car. I bought it from a hippie/surfer/delicatessen owner in Victor Harbor, SA. It went fairly well, but had some serious structural issues; the header rail had been hacked away to accommodate the sunroof, the inner panels had holes cut in them for a pair of bubble windows that thankfully never eventuated, and the floor was mainly made of rust.
I had the head shaved as I was chasing more compression, however this caused the timing change tensioner to fail. Rather than replacing it, I bought a good, second-hand G180Z SOHC to which I fitted a webber and a cam. The thing was a little ripper then, but man it had some rattles.
I ended up wrecking it for parts and buying a 'better' Gemini van in blue, which had as much rust as this one, but better hidden!
The panels with the airbrushing were from 'Lil Malibu', a relatively famous show car of the 1980s. I still have the panels.
Modifications
Variously; 14in Camira steel rims, 15in Nissan Exa alloys, G180Z SOHC engine, Webber, hot cam and five-speed gearbox. The vinyl roof, sunroof and airbrushed side panels were from the 80s TE Gemini showcar, Lil Malibu.
