History
Affectionately named the Bongo Van, this was an ex-camper and I used it for 17 years for my book business. Basically reliable, the only real problems I had was with the head which developed tiny pinholes at 100,000 kms. I ran it for just under 300,000 kms and it did many trips to car and bike shows, swap meets and events such as Summer Nats and Winter Sun. Pictured here at the Devils Marbles in the NT after attending the Alice Springs Truck Museum 10th Anniversary. Over 17 years it paid for itself as I was able to save on motel bills by sleeping in it. Desperately slow with 25 boxes of books on board, I could walk beside going up the Toowoomba Range or Cunninghams Gap. It was finally euthanised when the head cracked and the replacement head was worth more than the van itself. RIP Mister Bongo.
