History
I purchased this vehicle as a cut down utility in very poor condition, I stripped the body and rebuilt it from the ground up, firstly as a five seat Tourer which it would have been. Then modified it into this Camper so we could drive it around Australia in 2008 in Celebration of the 100 year anniversary of Model T Fords. We had already taken it to Tasmania in 2006 for a 17 day shakedown tour in preparation for the big lap.
The car has won many awards including car of the show at All Ford Day in 2013.
Modifications
Extended the chassis to accommodate a longer body for camping, three speed accessory gearbox (a replica of the original accessory) Installed a thermatic fan, distributor and the rest of the mechanics are original. Installed a reversing camera, CB radio, am/fm radio/cd player. Internally it is fitted with a fold out queen size bed, three burner gas stove, Engel fridge/freezer water tank, cupboards and storage drawers. it has two roll out Awnings and annex walls for the bedroom and it takes about 15 minutes to set up for camping.
It is also fitted with dual fuel tanks to double the touring distance (aprox 600 Km).
