History
This bike had been abandoned after being stolen in the early 1980's, and was found in a paddock in Belgrave two years later. After sitting in the shed and 15 years looking for replacement parts, I set about doing a complete strip down and rebuild. The final painting and assembly took another two years. It's not done a lot of kilometres since except for the occasional rally and weekend coffee run. She's not fast, however once she winds up to about 80 kph, she just sit on that speed all day. She's done over 110 kph on a freeway - no tail wind or downhill, just nice and flat near Avenel.
Modifications
This bike is stock standard. Everything that is on it are to original specifications except for a few stainless steel nuts and bolts. The indicators were an accessory that could be ordered along with the Bumm mirror, locking fuel cap, medium bars and side-stand. The panniers are Cravens Golden Arrows from 1962, and although some people think they are mounted sideways, they were setup originally by Craven for a UK owner this way. The de-rusting and bodywork, paintwork and pin striping was done by Roy Bogner. Hawkeyes will notice that it's not the right key, thats safely in the draw at home.
