Memories
The car was bought new by me in 1969, one of the very first MKll Coopers delivered. I rallied it with some success in the early 1970s, winning the under 1300cc class in the Amoco Condobolin 24 hour rally in 1972. 45 years on, in 2017 I drove the car to Hay (1000kms return) for the Mini Nationals, winning the most original' Mini trophy.
The car is one owner since new, totally unmolested and in original condition. It has never been painted, and none of the major components, engine, gearbox or clutch have even been out of the car. The interior is totally original and in excellent condition. It still runs very well, as confirmed by the editor of Mini Experience magazine when he recently did a story on the car for Survivor Cars magazine.
