History
While looking for a cheap, daily driver "rocket", in 2007 I came across this car in a Melbourne Western Suburbs car yard that specialised in cheap, high mileage cars. It had all the service records with it and the 1st owner details. A man who had played test cricket for Australia. The car was straight, had low kms for age and further inspection confirmed that it had never been in an accident, a fact which I confirmed with the previous ( and only) owner. There were. few things that needed attention such as suspension bushes, a small oil leak, a tired radiator and a seized air- conditioning compressor, but there were things I could easily rectify, so I purchased the vehicle. As Saab's were not really "flavour of the month," the yard was glad to accept my low offer as they had had it for over 12 months. Over the next 3 years, I completely rebuilt the suspension, fitted a new radiator, had the air-conditioning compressor rebuilt and just for the heck of it, rebuilt the brakes. I kept the car for 11 trouble free years and drove it all over Victoria, Southern NSW and Tasmania, before passing it on to a new "custodian," a young cricketer who had just returned from a season of county cricket in the UK and was happy that he was buying a car that had once belonged to an Aussie Test Cricketer.
Modifications
Camber adjustment bolts. By altering the camber, it turned a car with heavy steering to one with light steering.
