I built this car in 1970/'71. I built it from half a Touring body on two thirds of its chassis. It was the first Street Rod in Australia to be registered with a Chrysler small block.[273] It is a genuine all steel Budd body, & Dodge appears to be the first in the industry to use all steel bodies. I built it with a hyper rare original 1915 dash with glove box .[deleted from 1917 through to 1932] A subsequent owner stupidly replaced it with the 1917 dash that went with the car. I still have the radiator cap, and the wheels. Even the custom built radiator is gone, built from the remains of three very hard to find originals. It was built in Rooty Hill, in the greater Sydney area & registered in Katoomba, in the Blue Mountains on 22 September 1971.
It is pictured in my front yard in April 1973 being prepared for the overnight drive to Narranderra for the Street Rod Nationals. The fenders had been fitted only days before, hence the primer.
So sad to se it defiled like this.
