History
My first car was purchased from a Victorian farmer who had it in his shed on blocks. It was intended for his son who unfortunately was killed in the Korean War. Refered by a friend, I met this very kind man who eventually sold it to me for the princely sum of 250 pounds which was all I had, in 1958. This car was very special to me for many reasons, the main one being that it was the one in which I first met my present wife. It was completely restored by the Gordon Institute, Geelong,Victoria, Motor Mechanics School where it was stripped down to it's bare chassis, motor also, then lovingly put back together by staff and apprentices. All at no cost to me. Even though I was without a car for several months, the final result was incredible as it came out of the school looking brand new. I drove it with pride for several years until I was coerced by the owner of our local Ford Dealership to sell it to him in exchange for a brand new Ford Customline Twin Spinner Sedan. However, it must have been fate, as only weeks later he had a major motor defect and it sat in his showroom for years before being repaired.
