History
Built 1958. A batch of about 55 x Power Wagon bodies imported from USA/UK & re-assembled in Keswick S.A. with R/H drive for the RAAF.
*Noted on RAAF register as "Weapon Carriers", seperate from smaller number of other RAAF Power Wagons - "TER" Truck early rescue (Firefighting etc) also used by the RAAF. Info from RAAF museum, this is number 48 of about 55.
1958 - 1959 Assembled in Keswick .S.A.
1959 - 1968 RAAF (Williamstown) - Painted Blue/Grey
1968 - 1970 Howes Motors, Unanderra when sold to Dapto Bush Fire Brigade. *Apparently hadn’t come straight from the RAAF, unknown location/use during this time frame.
1970 - 1986 Dapto Bush Fire Brigade, Dapto, NSW - Re-painted red
1986 - 2019 Private owner (Geelong, Victoria) - Re-painted Olive green
2019 - 2022 Private owner (Cooma, NSW)
2022 - Present Private owner (Canberra, ACT)
Modifications
Original engine, transmission, suspension, tray etc. Single round reverse mirror swapped for dual new mirrors & different indicators added, top light/radio antenna (Dapto Fire Brigade). New brush guards added (VIC owner). Original Colour - Blue/Grey when purchased by Dapto Fire Bridge & painted red. Later painted green by VIC owner.
