History
So this car in my collection was and still is my first car and I purchased it way back in 2011 with a mere 242,000kms on it from memory and have done so many different things to it over the 11 years since which of course included some pretty silly things let’s face it but as I aged towards my 30s and as the car wore out even more and the odometer clicked up and over the big 500,000kms I had a thought that if I’m really that keen on keeping this car until it meets a no longer repairable end it’s about time I do something decent with it and actually make it look how I always wanted it to look before I start some other silly idea.
So just like when I first got it the plan was already set in my head I was going to use the car to relive the 2000s when everyone was doing up cars in the most unique ways to themselves which was the SexSpec era and growing up in that era I remember it as a time you could literally do what pleased you and people appreciated and loved it. You could be bright, you could be out there and it didn’t matter because back then everyone did it and it was fun.
Heck when I first got this car I tried to hit that era on the head with the stereo, the chrome wheels, the neon lights and a no care attitude but by then it was a dying art so I missed the mark and I’ve missed it ever since, even more so the last couple years so it’s time to join in with several others and their cars and relive it!
My goal here though is pretty simple really. I want to fix some panel damage and sort of restore the car a bit to bring back that nice clean look inside and out and then add that SexSpec touch..
This time I really hope I can go all the way with the plan though as I think this would look real nice with some motor work or just some shiny bits in the engine bay, a nice new colour or just the factory one freshened up, a retrimmed inteior and a decent stereo again (current one hasn’t worked in years) and finish it off with some old school neon lights and lowered suspension without going way too over the top as these cars have become quite the rarity.
At this present moment in time I’m currently cleaning up the interior to make way for it to all become a little blue like on the outside and I’m currently in the process of painting the plastics in I think turquoise blue from memory but true colour of it doesn’t seem to photograph correctly.
But in all honestly I just want the car to be a real nice fuel economical mostly daily cruiser.
