Purchased new by father 1980 from Zupps Mt Gravatt. Many years of faithful service. Towing caravan, boat, bike trailer and many interstate trips to see family in Bathurst area. Purchased from him approx 1993 and sold 2001.
Modifications
Engine untouched until burnt out a couple of exhaust valves when only 2years old suspect bad petrol on interstate trip. Dad being mechanical engineer took head off and cam out for regrind. Doing his own machining courtesy of Yeronga Tafe where he was a fitting & machining teacher. New Yella Terra valves and springs. Ex. valves considerably larger in diameter. All new hardened valve seats ready for unleaded running in future. Reassembled with reground mid range torque spec cam. Extractors fitted 3 into 2 into 1 design coupled to 2&3/4 inch exhaust with one full flow turbo muffler provided by one his students working for a custom exhaust maker around Archerfield area. Went and sounded great easily mistaken for V8 only tell was 3.3 badge on boot. Rims widened to 7inch(20mm out & 5.4mm in) with stock centre caps and h/duty springs all round with rear air adjustable shocks to help with heavy boot loads and towing.Stayed that way engine wise until sold to very happy new owner in 2001.
