History
She was assembled in South Australia and came to Victoria in 1968. I bought Matilda in 1978 for $500 and was told to drive her until she fell apart, then get a decent car. I couldn't afford it so paid off repairs and eventually people commented on how good she looked. Got ripped off many times and think I replaced almost every part on her at least once! The engine was reconditioned in 1992 and we have travelled just over 100,000 since.
Since marrying my Holden enthusiast, Matilda has scored many Nasco accessories and is now running beautifully! She still has the original head which was not even changed when I had her converted to LPG.
She was my daily driver until 2002 when safety, speed and three kids became and issue.
Last year we travelled to central Australia with Matilda towing our 10' Sandrover caravan named Clancy. Matilda never missed a beat.
