History
Bought new from Bib Stillwell Ford of Kew on 12 June 1969 by the original owner, I bought it from him on April Fool's Day 1999. He turned 93 eight days later. The car had done 140,500 miles and now has 225,000 miles on it. It was my daily driver until late 2003 when oil pressure problems caused the piston skirts to crack, forcing an engine-out tear down with new pistons. Since then it is typically driven one a week or fortnight if the weather is good. It remains on its original number plates and has been continuously registered. Rust repair work has been done, some panels have been taken back to bare metal, the carpet has been replaced, and the XC buckets were removed and replaced with ZB buckets with NOS vinyl. The arm rests have been replaced with reproduction arm rests and the dashboard was repaired early on. Whitewall tyres were a recent addition. I drove it from Melbourne to NSW and back every weekend for 16 months.
