History
The 59 FC Holden was my first car that I bought for $300 which my old man said I was mad for paying so much for a FC Holden.
He didn't appreciate the chromies, 2" system with a hotdog muffler, all fed by the hot 138 grey sideplate with it's twin strombergs, hot cam, shaved head and extractors.
The twin strombergs got replaced by an "exotic" 45mm Weber side - draught carb on a Speco manifold.
Suspension was almost non existent as it sat on the rubber bump stops all round.
I didn't care, because as a 16 year old I thought it was the hottest thing thing sliced bread and I was always up for race back in the day.
Learned to drive in that car, lost my virginity in it as well and had a heap of good times until some b****** stole it one day which was the end of that chapter in my motoring career.
My next step up was a HT Holden sedan, a :White Hot Special " which was a 253 V8 and three on the tree with a bench seat.
And that's another story.
