History
This vehicle was purchased new from Strapp Ford in Doncaster by 49 year old Mr. Alfredo Gianfreda of Bulleen on the 27th of May 1977. The registration number of the vehicle from new was AG-066, on the old style Victorian black and white personalised numberplates.
In April 2000 it was traded in by its now 72-year-old owner at Bob Binks Ford, in Footscray. This is when I first saw the vehicle. It was a bit rough, but was straight and in original condition. I enquired about it at the time, but it had already been sold to a used car wholesaler.
In May 2000 I saw it for sale in a car yard in Footscray. I wasn’t going to let it get away a second time. I bought the car, the odometer reading was 154234 km’s. It was still a bit rough, but had been cleaned up a bit to go on the used car market. Unfortunately, the original numberplates had been replaced with new ones, QCT-727. Over the next few years I gave it a cosmetic restoration and gave it a new lease on life. While working on the car I found the original factory option slip taped to the back of the glovebox. This verified the originality of the car. While I owned the car I accumulated less than 10,000 km’s, with the odometer showing 163,203 when I sold it in August 2004. Due to other commitments, I very reluctantly had to sell it. I have kept in touch with its new owner. He used it as a daily driver for many years, and in 2014 it is undergoing restoration.
