History
The Ellis family is now in the third generation of owning this vehicle. Albert bought the car, as traded, in 1970. His son Trevor bought it from Albert in 1980. It is now in the hands of Trevor’s son, David.
While owned by Trevor it became a very handy car to have around as it was used to tow boats, caravans, and as a work horse when towing laden trailers. The car made many trips to outback South Australia and with a high ground clearance it went many places where 4WD vehicles feared to go! Being able to seat 6 people was a bonus. The car was also used to teach our two children, including David, how to drive...How many kids of today learn to drive a 3 on the tree! In 1985 we completed a full mechanical overhaul and the car was off the road for a few months. When we went to register the car the South Australian government would not allow us to keep the original plates '157881'. We are still trying to get the original plates returned! With the help of our close relatives Rosslyn and Robert Brown the car underwent a full restoration in May 2016. With the help of local Kevin Johnson from Encounter Coast Repairs our EH was restored. We took our pride and joy on a road trip to the Echuca Steam Rally in 2019 and look forward to showing our beauty at Shannon's Show and Shine events in the future.
