History
This car has been in the Family for 18 years, purchased in Melbourne in a sad state. Originally fitted with a 998 cc but came with heaps of spares including the present motor which was installed in 20009 after a re-build. In 2012 I embarked on a 12 day trip to Adelaide staying in Finley, Mildura, Loxton on the way over & Jeparit, Finley on the return. The car ran like a dream all the way covering just over 4000 klms. Since then it has been my daily drive until I purchased the Mazda MX6 so it is now having a spell but is still driven as, being a Mini, it is just so much fun to drive.
Modifications
The engine had a cam grind during the re-build which increased the torque figure slightly. It also has a "Sports" exhaust system which does tend to "Bark" if I rev. the engine during acceleration. Has the obligatory set of 10 inch mag. wheels fitted, I feel that they set Mini’s off from those with the standard steel wheels. The mirrors are from a Mazda 3000 van with modifications to the passenger side arm. I like the idea of having good rear vision in such a small car.
