History
After searching for years for the right bike the CB was purchased from Sydney in the one week of open flights during covid, I packed a light carry on bag, my helmet, gloves and a tent, jumped aboard a plane from Tasmania and booked a return upon the spirit.
After purchasing the bike showed its true colours "adventure", taking the scenic east coast highway I started to run into some issues, Losing all power from a blown fuse, I was lucky enough to leave the bike and grab an uber to the closest auto store, would you believe it the driver was an enthusiast that had risen from Australia, boated to Africa and unto Europe, he helped me troubleshoot, returned me to the bike and even waited around until I was on the road again, what a legend!
I made my way down to Merimbula/Eden and decided I could make the trip through some 200km of state forest to camp up at lakes entrance before nightfall.
right in the centre, with one bar of reception and about 20% on my phone the bike died down again, but this time it wasn't a fuse.
I tracked my way to the top of a hill and managed to get enough reception to make some calls and try to trouble shoot the problem, with no luck and about 5% and nightfall hitting it was time to call a tow.
waiting in the dark with no phone battery I had to trust the driver would rock up, and he did, he even put me up for the night and fed me, and had his bike mechanic mate help us out in the morning to get me back on the road after a burnt out wire.
I couldn't thank him enough!
I made it (just) to the spirit terminal that night to aboard to my island home.
the trip was eventful and in all honesty this is quite brief on a few other points, but my heart was filled after the generosity and kindness of strangers, and the sheer adventure the bike had taken me on already.
that's what it's all about.
