History
The Triton is the original café racer. It is a custom hybrid motorcycle that is an amalgam of the famous Norton “Featherbed” frame and Triumph parallel twin engine, combining the best elements of each marque. The concept was popular throughout the 60s and 70s with machines being built by both individuals and specialist manufacturers. My bike uses the a 1956, 6T, 650 pre-unit Triumph engine in a wideline featherbed frame. The machine has many upgrades that contribute to rideability and reliability that are listed below under modifications.
Elsewhere in my shed I have a 1956 6T 650 in standard trim. The contrast is quite startling, particularly when braking and cornering.
