History
1978 Datsun 200B Wagon
This car has a bit of a unique story, being an imported model and complianced back in 1978 for the Nissan / Datsun Head Office for the executives to test drive and confirm they would make them locally here in Australia.
Some of differences in this imported model compared to the Australian built models are in the dash gauges arrangement, the seats being vinyl all over rather than cloth and the headrest being separate rather than molded to be part of the seat, and also the fake wood grain panel on the back tailgate.
All in all a fantastic car with a very unique story being an imported but complianced model for Nissan / Datsun back in 1978, presents extremely well and is perfect for cruising to car shows / cars and coffee. The 5 speed makes freeway cruising a breeze and having driven it on a road trip from Brisbane to Melbourne over 2 days when purchased almost 3 years ago I can vouch for its reliability and how great it is to cruise on short and long drives!
