History
This car was one of the first 2 series Volvo's in Australia and has spent most of its life as a competition tarmac ,and now dirt rally car. We have competed in the East African Safari Classic Rally in 2007and numerous Australian marathon events such as the Red Centre to Gold Coast Trial in 2008 and 4 Classic Outback Trials with 3rd and 4th places in two of those. My Daughter recently came 4th Outright against a field of International and local male drivers in cars such as Porsches and BDG Escorts. Our family has owned this car for nearly 20 years and intend to hand it down to the next generation. A strong, fast, reliable car.
Modifications
It is fitted with a B230 block and a knife edge 2.6 stoker crank. Modified cylinder head with hand built exhaust system. It is fuel by two 48mm side draft Weber carburettors. A Toyota W58 close ratio gearbox and a Dana/Trojan Diff housing with a 4.56:1 Tru Trac Diff centre with MCA remote canister shock absorbers and Skyline disc callipers on EBC slotted and dimpled rotors completing the package. I love this car because it's different from most others but can really show itself when the chips are down!
