Bought this car for parts over a year ago, two weeks ago decided to race it in the Marulan Driver Training Centre's Cheap Car Challenge, 4 hour endurance race on Sept 20, 2015. Sponsored by autObarn Albion Park. Was running in the top 5 until put out by debris from a crashed car damaged a fuel line.
Has since competed at the VW Nationals sprint at SMP gaining an Improved Production 1601-2000cc class win.
And at Huntley Hillclimb for second in the same class on a wet track.
Modifications
Most of the interior trim removed, Monroe gas dampers, HSV front bumper. Winmax and EBC brake pads, camber pins. ABS and Traction control disabled. Yokohama road/race tyres. a complete bespoke exhaust system. close ratio transmission and heavy duty clutch. camber plates on rear axle, Whiteline rear sway bar.
