History
My first car - always loved the style of a Kingswood. Bought from Sivyer's car yard in Inala in January of 1990 with around 130,00km. I have no knowledge of the car's history prior to that time.
This car has been my daily driver for the past 27 years. There have been numerous ups and downs, as with any long term relationship, but we have stuck together through it all, travelling around 400,000km together.
She had a heart transplant in the late nineties after dropping a piston in the early hours of the morning, somewhere between Rocky & Gladstone with the wife, dog & niece in the car (certainly a low point in the relationship), has had a couple of transmission rebuilds, plus the usual replacement radiators and alike. Apart from that, she has remained exactly the same car until recently, when major cosmetic surgery has taken place. With three donor doors and a replacement nose cone, a back to bare metal restoration has returned her to her former glory, after she was starting to show her age as she struggled to cope with the climatic conditions of a move to the coast about 15 years ago. Interior has remained original except for the carpet and front bench seat that was reupholstered during the recent restoration.
