History
A replica of the first Austin Seven, known as the Barrel racer, to race at Brooklands in 1922. Built by E. C. Gordon England, an early aeroplane designer and aviator. The 750cc achieved a lap average of 60.05 mph on the first outing and later took the 5 mile record at 79.62 mph, all on 3” wide beaded edge tyres running 100 psi! Raced from March until early October when rule changes demanded a riding mechanic.
