History
My dad and i went out on a hunt to find a hillman to restore for my grandma. she had one 30 years ago and she had always talked about how great the car was and how she missed it and how it was the best looking car on the road. We end up finding this car at a farm in Drouin Victoria from a guy called Scott and his dad was a enthusiast and was collecting hillmans for years and he was restoring this one until he fell ill and passed away the vehicle was in his possession for 10years or more. Scott did not have time to restore the car and it was perfect for us. The paint cleaned up very well, the motor ran but needed a tune and some new parts but it drove great took as a while like all projects and some help from friends . We had so much fun working on it. with new tyres got it club registered whith the chicken coop classics. Then we gave the car to my grandma Effie and had her name made in to a sticker and put it on the car and have now called the car Effie too. It was last year's Christmas present for her. she loves it, we take her shopping in it and go for drives. The hillman had been taken it to its first car show at Drysdale and its first long drive but went great. It got alot of attention. When we got back to grandmas. She had made the comment that she wanted to get the car looking the best we could, so off to the trimmer it went. wow cam's Custom auto trimming did a great job. Cam matched the colour perfectly and photos does not do it justice. We are looking forward to showing off the hillman more at car shows and a lot more drives in Effie the 1957 Hillman.
