History
Built in 1980 by my father Paul Corner for the newly established Appendix J class. Raced by him consistantly from 1981 thru to around 1988, when he upgraded to a Mustang. Then raced ocasionally until 1993 when son, Duane took over the keys and raced it from then to
around 1997 when a testing crash at Amaroo Park sidelined the car into storage, as an Nc Torana XU1 was built and used fom then on.
The car has been moved from various storage locations, with hope we can repair it back to its former glory.
The car is an original 1963 Cortina GT, one of 110 kits, Harry Firth brought to Australia from england to make the car eligible for the 1963 Amstrong 500, to which Harry and Bob Jane went on to win.
Modifications
Car is basically race prepared to the 1980’s spec of group N Apendix J specs, so still has carpets, a modified standard drivers seat etc
