History
Genuine 8,350km when purchased, original owner rode it, then appears to have been stored in a shed for 30 odd years. Barn find.
All fluid replacement was required - re-sleeved master and slave cylinders with genuine new seals, cleaned out dried dot-4 hydraulic fluids (dried crystals in master cylinders), new fork seals & fluid, rebuilt rear shock. Replaced the oil & coolant using a flushing product & 2 oil filters.
The frame had some slight surface rust, so rubbed it back & resprayed the frame.
Fuel tank was resealed, after finally getting the filler flap open as the gummy 30 year old fuel had stuck the caps release sliders in the locked position. Replaced the basically disintegrated fuel sender. Repaired a couple of small scratches on the tank.
Replaced the anti-dive brake seals and steering stem bearings.
Carbies were ultrasonically cleaned.
A new battery (thankfully this had previously been removed), tyres and spark plugs - finally ready to go - fuel pump not working replaced relay.
Started first time, have done 1000km so far, on Sundays….
Modifications
Added a genuine Gearsack rack I found interstate - had to be sandblasted & powder coated
