History
This is Vicki’s 1956 Ford Crown Victoria. She purchased the car in Renton, Washington, USA, during a trip to the 2002 US Street Rod Nationals and to see our friends in Seattle. It was owned by Fred Sanderson, owner of Dark Horse Performance, a Ford performance shop in Renton, Wa.
Modifications
The car sits on an Australian Mainline Ute chassis, which is identical to the original except it’s right-hand drive. Paint is a PPG Candy colour called "Cherry Bomb."
The engine is a 5L Ford EFI, bored and stroked to 350 Cu In. Induction is GT40 look-alike stack injection. Trans is Australian BTR 4 speed controlled by factory Trans Controller.
Engine Management for the car is Autronic SM4.
Diff is narrowed EF Falcon V8 diff with RodTech coil-over kit.
Front end is 56 Ford, EF spindles, A-Arms rebuilt with modern suspension bushings and components, brakes are 4 wheel disc.
Every rust repair panel available from EMS was used, and the entire car from half-way down the doors is all new steel.
