At the age of 17 I saved my money to buy my car. The licence age was 18. I wanted a Mini, but in 1964 they were too dear for me and being an impatient girl, I opted for a '56 Morris Minor. My Dad restored it, not that it was that bad to start with, but I wanted my car to be unique. Dad put a 1000 motor in it (and I asked for a 1000 badge on the back). I decided on keeping the grey but wanted red wheels and red around the grille. Dad obliged and I got my (fairly) unique Morris. I still wasn't 18!
I had the Morris for many years, can't remember how many as it was so long ago. I got married and had two boys who were sort of strapped into the back seat. Then we got an Austin 1800.
