The year was 1962, it was a Saturday morning somewhere around April or May and on that particular morning I found myself at the BMC Zetland factory Sydney ready to pick up my brand new Artic Blue Mini Minor.
I had ordered the car some four weeks earlier and was informed that there was a seven weeks waiting list, so in the meantime I saved every penny I could lay my hands on so that I would have enough money for the deposit.
