History
Of all my cars the land rover is the one that just didn’t give me an income, or fun; it changed my life. It was in the LR that we drove from the UK, across Europe and Asia and onto Australia before selling it in Auckland New Zealand.
Back in the late sixties, before the Land Cruiser got to England there was no comparable 4X4, though back in those days only Farmers and gentry had four wheel drives, so buying a Series 2a was a fairly radical thing to do, but this was in the dying days of the British colony and the LR had found its way to even the furthest corners of the world, so to us there was question our trip would be by Land Rover. A decision that proved correct as we had few, and trivial problems through the entire trip. The Land Rover wasn’t only another vehicle, it showed me the world, and started me on what would be the most fulfilling part of my life.
