History
On 5th October 1966 a brand new Austin Healey 3000 Mark 111 was lifted aboard a ship bound for the BMC dealer in Miami USA.
30 years later the same Austin Healey, now very tired and well used, had found its way across the USA to San Diego and was granted import approval to immigrate to Australia.
By then the car had fallen on hard times and was in need of a total restoration. For 15 years the car found several different owners in Australia but no one took on the task of restoring it.
In April 2012 we had bought the car and with some good mates on the job the car was dismantled to the last nut and bolt.
JH Classics at Yatala provided the expertise to repair the body work and provide new paint and solve numerous other problems.
All the mechanical components were stripped and rebuilt over a 12 month period by the owner.
Two years of effort and the Mark 111 was finished in May 2014 and ready for another 50 years of adventures in its new country.â
