History
This model was the top of the line Alfa Romeo when built in June 1964. It was originally sold new in Italy in 1966 however in September 1969 it was registered in Victoria. How or why it came to be imported to Australia is unknown. The previous owner purchased it in poor condition in 1998 and noted that the last registration sticker was for Victoria 1978. The restoration involved a full mechanical overhaul, interior trim refurbish and a bare metal respray although there was little rust.
My wife and I were fortunate to be able to buy this ’bella’ Alfa in October 2014. We have rebuilt the steering box which was not able to be achieved in 1998 due to a lack of parts and refurbished lights and other details.
Modifications
The car is completely standard as it left the factory. It is fitted with a period Becker Mexico radio and has correct tools and manuals etc.
