History
We purchased the Chev from Ohio USA in 2011 from an onseller who bought it from the gentleman who spent 10 years building it. It is more Car than we ever expected as it was set up to do Nostalgic 1/8 mile drag racing. It arrived in Australia with a 468ci engine. The matching numbers engine was packed in a crate and delivered with the car. This vehicle was imaculate inside, outside and underside. The drag racing engine and the 4.56 diff made driving round the block a challenge, so after spinning a bearing, destroying the muncie 4 speed and then breaking the crank into three pieces, we set about turning it back into a cruiser.
Modifications
The car has now got a 505ci Big Block Chev (454 base block with 1/4 inch longer stroke and .100 thou oversize bore) SRP Hitop Pistons, Eagle Rods & Eagle Crank. LS7 Heads with Roller Cam and Rockers with 612 thou lift at the Valve. This is all hooked up to the repaired Original Muncie 4 speed through a Scatter Shield and a comp clutch (Which I Found has a few weaknesses ) and then on to an Original 12 bolt Possitraction with 3.42 ratio. The front end has had a Brake upgrade with discs. The rear end is all Rose Jointed making it a little stiff but a nice touch. I have kept the Mucle Car look with the ride height and larger tyres on the rear. All together we are very happy with the combo
