Got the vehicle from used car dealer in Toowoomba QLD, runs fine couldn't really fault anything except a leaking heater core and shitty paint work.
Polished Paintwork looks soooo much better, and I don't use a heater so I rerouted cooling hoses from heater core. No more leaks inside vehicle.
6mths into having the vehicle engine and transmission did the normal ford Milkshake, where tranny fluid and coolant mix, not good at all. Lost all gears in middle of intersection of major road in Toowoomba. Towed home late at night.
The next day at mechanics it was explained , that the cooler seat itself and everything needed to be flushed, I stated and asked if the transmission would be removed and converter drained. No he said �� we'll flush it and it will be right to go ...
Now this is coming from a RACQ MECHANIC, 1 month later book in for another follow-up reflush of transmission and engine and there's still oil residue in the overflow bottle. Asked if the transmission will now be removed so the converter can be drained, no he replied. After collecting the vehicle he stated the vehicle is right to go , you shouldn't have any dramas now.
I drove to Townsville and back , the towed a furniture trailer down to Coffs harbour, along the way the transmission fault light flashed on the dash... I thought maybe overheating, felt the floor tunnel area it was warm but not hot. Turned off the vehicle and waited afew minutes then restarted and reset the dash emptied the trailer and drove home without a fault. Next day drove just north of Brisbane picked up a box trailer 6x4 and drove back towards home , drove up Toowoomba range , and lost all gears again on James St at another intersection.
Car hasn't moved for about 3 weeks �� the mechanic was contacted asap and he put a scan tool on .... and omg the converter is stuffed.... fancy that !
I'm sure if he had removed the transmission on the first appointment all this other flushing and stuff wouldn't have been necessary.
Currently car is still outside our house (dated 9-5-24)
