History
I bought this XY Fairmont in 1991 from a bloke in Canberra. He purchased the car new from Gregory's Ford in Braddon in Canberra. I paid the same price for it as he paid to purchase new in 1971. The car has an interesting local history in the ACT and I still have it here.
The car is in pristine condition however I have replaced and restored the interior and also some minor work on the exterior including some minor paint and chrome work. Interior includes T Bar auto and front bucket seats in saddle trim. Car has a C4 tranny which is smooth and reliable.
The car came with original brochure and radio plus many parts including receipts. This car is u********* and I am glad not to have attempted to try and make it into a GT look alike.
Modifications
Original engine rebored to 305 cubic inches. Cam and manifold fitted with Header pipes additional. I added a dual 2.25 inch exhaust system to the car after purchase.Car is lowered 2 inches with heavy duty lowering springs, 8 x 14 chrome 12 slotters with a set of Bridgestone Eagers for rubber. I have replaced all components on the front end including ball joints, steering arms, tie rods and brake system.
