My beautiful 1979 Series A RA40 Celica was originally sold by Terry Shields Toyota in Paramatta Sydney In August 1979, by a couple who were just short of their retirement, the family then later moved out country to a town in northern NSW called Casino where the Celica spent the following 20 years in the country air living and working on a cattle farm being used as a daily driver, the couple then decided to move to the small costal town of Lauriton in NSW where the car was then retired from daily driving and used as a second car, it was then decided by the original owner that the car was to be sold and later bought by the original owners neighbour who had always admired the car, the second owner rarely used the car and in turn, placed it into storage where it sat for close to 6 years, I came into possession of the car in late 2012, I used the car for almost 3 years as a daily driver car throughout my years at uni until mid this year where I felt that the car deserved the luxury of a complete restoration in order to preserve it and enjoy it for many years to come, since then the car has had a complete inside and out respray, interior restoration back to factory correct, both front and rear bumpers re-chromed and a set of NOS lenses (which I had collected over a few years), since the restoration the car has been used as a recreational vehicle for weekends and to take to local shows, I hope to preserve this car for as long as i can for the next generation to enjoy!
